Two things motivate me in my work: finding an idea through words and images, and seeing humor emerge unexpectedly when they are combined.

The world of books has countless commonalities that all readers can relate to, such as peeking at what other passengers are reading on the subway or delighting in the smell of old books.
The exhibition Leer entre líneas (Read between lines) by graphic humorist Loreta Lion brings together a selection of cartoons in which the world of books and reading is revealed through humor, irony, and wit.
These graphic works of art, known as cartoons or gag cartoons, in which words and drawings are combined to convey an idea or concept, are often found in the press and are considered a short form of comedy.
The sobriety and conciseness of the medium pose a small challenge for the reader, who must decipher the cartoons and perceive the wit that springs from the drawing and the word, or in other words, read between the lines.
Books, writers, and readers are the protagonists of this exhibition, which is designed to be displayed in libraries, the place where books are kept.
