Madrid in silence
The exhibition “Madrid en silencio” is a walk through Madrid illustrated by Kike Ibáñez through 23 places that are familiar and unusual at the same time. His illustrations call our attention because of their enigmatic nature. When we look at them we are surprised by something that at first we are not able to identify even when it comes to places that are part of our daily life in the city. The perspective that the illustrator chooses to draw each scene is not the one we are used to seeing in postcards of Madrid. Kike Ibáñez’s view of space presents us with a new, non-stereotypical reality, which stops at the synthesis of forms, emphatic and clear, and at the here and now.
