Valerio Vidali (born 1983) graduated in Illustration and visual communication at IED (Milan, 2004). Is an Italian Illustrator for magazines and Picturebooks.
His client list includes the New York Times, The Boston Globes, Il Sole 24 ore, Marie Claire, Enchanted Lion, Topipittori, Planeta Tangerina, Templar, Random House and Candlewick press among others.
His work has received numerous recognitions in international festivals and Biennale, as The Bologna Children’s Book Fair exhibition (4 times selected, 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2011), The Grand Prix of ILUSTRARTE (Portugal) in 2012, the CJ Picture Book Award (South Korea, 2012), The American Society of Illustrators and the Bratislava International Biennal of Illustration (2013)
In 2013 his book Jemmy Button was listed by the New York Time’s best picture book review.
His latest project; “the Forest” and “Hundert” has been published on March 2018 by Enchanted Lion (New York) and Kein & Aber (Zurich).
Valerio currently lives and work in Berlin.
